SUMMARY

Craigslist's legacy interface creates friction at every touchpoint. Users struggle with inconsistent navigation patterns, overwhelming information density, and weak search discoverability. Without responsive breakpoints or clear visual hierarchy, even simple tasks become cognitive overhead. Having completed Memorisely's Design System Bootcamp in 2024, I reimagined the experience through a cohesive design system that prioritizes user goals and reduces interaction costs.

Design Challenge

Poorly structured information hierarchy and organization

Without clear visual hierarchy, users can't distinguish primary actions from secondary content, leading to decision fatigue and task abandonment.

Basic search functionality

Basic search functionality lacks essential filters like location and price sorting, which limits user control and discoverability.

The sparse interface lacks visual affordances, leaving users guessing which elements are interactive and breaking expected interaction patterns.
